here is a run cycle I am using for one of my scene this is rather rough at the time but still illustrates the character of the running cycle
So lately I have been taking a small break from the animation portion of the project and working on some backgrounds and environments. I think I finally have a look that I can keep consistent and really like so here are a small portion of what I have been working on recently
Been coloring in some scenes for the animation. not the most fun thing to do but it must be done.
well finished this guys breathing for the first scene .Now on to the next scene which is giving me a little more trouble then I thought, who knew moving a bottle in the water could be hard to animate……..
I colored and finished the facial expressions for the first part of the animation, I’ll be cleaning up and finishing the rest shortly
Here is a rough pencil test for a breathing animation with a sigh at the end, I have to put a few more frames in the end to make it look more like a sigh then a sneeze and I have to tighten up a few other frames. Other then that I am happy with the result and ready to do some more
well today I made some head way and am feeling pretty confident that I have conceived my final version of my main character for the animation so with out further ado here he is…meet Iticus !!!
also here is a concept art and possibly something that could be used for the Island for which he is stranded
The main problem I have been dealing with is trying to find a story. I was hoping the research I was doing would navigate me towards a story I would like to tell. In some ways it did but it not enough to the point where it was a story I was excited about or could inject the ideas and morals I wanted to. So after discussions with my professors and colleagues it finally just hit me in a way. My professor suggested the idea of a guy on and island when a bottle washed up. I thought how cliche that was and how I wanted to be original, but then the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea of taking something that seemed cliche and being able to put my own twist on it in order to fit the direction I wanted for my piece. so the stranded island is the way I am going and I’m very excited to dig into this and really get a great adventure out of it. So here are some sketches that I have done since the story has come to me.
